Kurinuki birdie box

This little bird box entails a lot of techniques! Carved from a solid block of clay (kurinuki) it is painted with black slip and scraped away to reveal a bird (scraffito). The additions of handles and high temperature wire gives it a quirky feel, and additional screen printed imagery and text adds to the individuality of the piece. No two are the same! The perfect place to store treasures!

About 15 cms high. Glazed.
